Biographical / Historical

Saul Feldman was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 18, 1931 to Sam and Sylvia Feldman. He graduated from Henry Grady High School in 1949, and served in the US Army Reserves in th 1950s. He and his mother, wife, sister, and brother-in-law opened the Snack 'n' Shop Deli in North Druid Hills in 1953 which later moved to Buckhead, where it stayed until its closure in 1997. Feldman was married to Renee Galanti Feldman (b. 1934) and had two daughters, Olga Feldman Rickoff and Leslie Feldman Abrahams. A member of Congregationa Shearith Israel, Saul Feldman passed away from a heart attack at age 71 on September 30, 2002.
