Biographical / Historical

Abraham N. Davidson was born in Cochran, Georgia, the son of Julius and Ida Davidson. Julius immigrated to the United States from Poland in the early 1900s and established Davidson's, a dry goods company, in Cochran in 1926. Following the death of Julius in 1952, the store was taken over by Abraham, known throughout the community as "Abie." The store carried clothing for the entire family and was a landmark in Cochran until it closed in 1993.
